Francesco-Alessio Ursini

Central China Normal University

Francesco-Alessio Ursini holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences (Linguistics Track) from Macquarie University, Sydney. Dr. Ursini is currently Research Professor in Linguistics, School of Chinese Language and Literature, Central China Normal University, Wuhan (China). Dr. Ursini focuses on spatial case morphemes, adpositions, Place Names and pro-forms in Romance, German and Sinitic languages, and across multiple disciplinary domains (grammar, lexicon, discourse, cognition, and acquisition). Dr. Ursini also works on cross-cultural themes and narrative methodologies in graphic narratives, with a focus on Science Fiction narratives and genres. Dr. Ursini has some spare time: “Too much! Shouldn’t you work more?” some detractors claimed (“Stuff it, detractors!” said Dr. Ursini). This time is spent on healthy physical exercise, questionable reading habits (comics, manga, SF books, scientific papers), and rather toxic videogames additions (old arcade titles). The Tiktokmen corps thought that they still need their Harlequins, so it’s all part of the game, folks. Dr. Ursini admits that this bio-blurb was inspired by one of the greatest creators of narratives and bio-blurbs: Harlan Ellison (but some facts may be factual; apologies, Mr.  Ellison!).

“Science is also about discovering new worlds.”

“Fictional or real? Don’t take risks! Explore and chart them all. The grand edifice of Knowledge also needs a section on why humans enjoy “the funny papers” during breaks.”
